To be or not to be
In business, in personal, in public, and in private we create personas to make these environments. However the message is to be yourself.
So why so many masks?
Mostly fear drives these decisions. If they knew I would laugh at that, if they new my political point of view, if they knew I like pineapple on pizza they would never be friends, give me the job, be with me etc.

We allow the stupidest things to hold us back from our potential to the be the best version of ourselves. Our true authentic self in most cases is the best. To address the elephant in the room I am not speaking by towards sociopaths you wear your masks, seek help, that is ok lol!
How freeing is the thought of not holding back?
Does this scare you? Are you afraid of losing everything? Well let me pose the question this way, if you have obtained the world on false pretenses, do you actually have the world?
I was told this week a true friend will accept faults and all. If you are hiding your personality at work I guarantee they are not getting the best of you.
The biggest thing to understand is that NOT EVERYONE will like you…. I’ll say that again NOT EVERYONE will like you. That is ok! Those who fade off when you start to be you were not meant to be there in the first place.
This is also the same business, not every customer is for you. Personalities will clash and you will not be able to produce the best outcome working together. Guess what that is ok! None of this makes them bad or you bad, it just means it is not a right fit.
We all have niche that we fit into!
You will find your tribe when you stop trying to be something you are not. Do you think a chihuahua would be accepted in a wolf pack? Nope! They are not the same but you put 30 chihuahuas together and my god they will do more damage than one pack of wolves.
There is power in freedom. There is power in finding your voice. There is strength in being cool with yourself first and foremost the rest will follow.
I am preaching to myself more than anything. For 39 years I put on so many masks to make sure someone, anyone, any company would just love me. The amount of loss, and hurt I experienced losing things I thought I wanted. Because if you wear the mask long enough you start to believe your own lies.
In conclusion
Try to remove your mask to someone in your life. Show them your real face, your real heart, your real choice of pizza toppings. See what happens. This is like any muscle you must exercise it. Eventually you will be strong enough to remove all masks to truly connect with people.
Like I said in the last blog, people don’t hire me to be a graphic designer because I am the best in the industry (I’m good but not the best lol) they hire me because of me. They are buying into my authentic self and the confidence I have in the ability to bring their vision to life.
I hope you found this helpful or at least thought provoking. If so make sure to subscribe, leave me a comment what I said right or where you think I missed the mark.
Love you all.
